Vierne Symphony No1 – Final

The 'manically joyful' last movement of Vierne's Symphnony No1 for organ, chosen by my son who can't do any organ practice at the moment.

Today’s it’s my son’s choice. He can’t get into any churches to do organ practice at the moment, so instead he’s spending lots of time listening to recordings, watching videos and reading his stack of organ magazines – my abiding memory of this time will be E with his feet up with a bun in his hand, watching James Lancelot’s DVD tour of Durham Cathedral’s organ.  Vierne is one of E’s favourite composers, and he says that this movement is ‘manically joyful’. This is his choice of performance as well.
