Two stars of the early music world, soprano Dame Emma Kirkby and and theorbist Jonatan Bougt join the student singers and instrumentalists of the Dunelm Consort & Players for a summer concert of smouldering music from the early Italian baroque, including madrigals and opera scenes by Claudio Monteverdi and culminating in Giacomo Carissimi’s extraordinary setting of the Old Testament story of Jephte.
