Messiah – DSCF Alumni Gala Concert

TV and radio present Alexander Armstrong returns as bass soloist and there is music by celebrated composer Will Todd in this concert to celebrate 50 years of music at Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation.

They are joined by Durham Cathedral Choir, DCSF chapel choristers and a large choir and orchestra drawn from the Foundation’s alumni pro/semi-pro singers, instrumentalists & friends. There will be video screens placed around the cathedral to give an enhanced view.

Will Todd – The Call of Wisdom (written for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee service)

Will Todd – In This Place (Commissioned by Roger Muttitt for the 600th anniversary of Durham School in 2014)

George Frideric Handel – Messiah (Parts 1, 2 & 3 with cuts)

This is a fundraising event organised by the Old Dunelmian Society. All proceeds, including all ticket sales, will be used in aid of a new means-tested bursary fund for former Durham Cathedral Choristers in order to enable their continued musical and general education at DCSF (Reg Charity No. 1023407) after their cathedral chorister scholarship has come to a close.
