Tom Edney: The Crucifixion
A rich selection of music reflecting on Lent and the Passion story, including Tom Edney’s ‘The Crucifixion’, written in 2024. Like earlier composers of Passions, such as John Stainer and J.S. Bach, Edney combines settings of the familiar Gospel texts with new harmonisations of familiar hymn tunes – and with new texts by Mother Carrie Thompson that reflect movingly on the Seven Last Words from the cross and our own responses to them.
Tickets £15 / students £10, under 12s free, on sale now from choir members or online from 14 February
